Comments from runners.

Wonderful course. Just enough crowd support. Great for a spectator too. I give this a 10 out of 10. Must run and a great course for a PR.

My first "outdoor" marathon... a great experience! Normally I have some anxiety before the race figuring out the logistics of where everything is, timing of arriving, parking, etc. Everything was so well communicated and organized that I had little to be anxious about (other than the 26.2 miles I was about to take on). Post race was great, loved the final stretch to the finish line - and John the race director was the first to high-five me!

This was my 4th marathon & 4th time running Lakefront Marathon. I will most likely be back next year. A few things I think could be improved is the women's bathroom situation. There were long lines at all the bathrooms and porta potties. I know it has been a problem with the communities, but the course is so narrow in spots that you can't pass anyone. I think the pace groups are great, but very difficult to pass them also. I would also like to recommend that after we cross the finish line that there be a extended area down the path to walk a little before going into finishing area.

1st marathon and it was awesome. Free parking and shuttle to start. We were able to use the high school before the race to stay warm and use the facilities. We were able to start racing right away with plenty of crowd support and it finishes on the lake. The medal was impressive too. It was worth every penny

The race was very well organized and scenic. For a smaller size marathon, I was very impressed by the spectator support. There were so many encouraging people along the route. I also loved starting at the high school where I could stay warm & use the restrooms rather than standing outside in the cold. The morning bus pick-up was quite smooth. It's only my second marathon, but I would recommend it.

The race has a cut off of 6.5 hours. I finished in 5:49 and there was no food left at the end. If you are going to have food then have enough to support the finish line until it closes. The start of the race was great...we got to wait in the high school to stay warm. Plenty of on course support at water stations. They did change a rule to not allow camelbacks in 2014 which is disappointing, esp for those with medical conditions that may need extra supplies, food, fluids. Shirts could have been designed better. Overall a great race.

Mostly flat and then downhill from mile 24 to 26.2...I'm not lying!
